There's a reason why he's been said to have the best unproven leg in the league. Well he showed it on Sunday, not only by clutch kicking the game winner against a team Favre has had problems beating away or at home, but he stuck a 53 yarder in the first quarter on his first career attempt, tied for the longest opening day field goal by a Packer since Chris Jacke tagged a 53 yarder in 1990 against the Rams. My man Mason, probably my best kicker now with good reason, is also the first Packer rookie to win a game on a FG since Jacke did it in 1989. Mason freakin' rocks.

Favre wasn't all that great but he did manage to throw an interception. Feel the sarcasm? Seriously though, with the win, Favre now ties Elway with career wins (148), which he is sure to own by end of this month.

The Eagles are never an easy win, or shall I say loss as it has been in the past, I'm happy for the Packers, I'm happy for the city of Green Bay, heck I'm happy for Crosby and happy for freakin' Favre tying the wins record. All in all, I'm just plain happy any time the team wins. Now are they playoff potential? Ehhh, I'm not sure, Brandon Jackson and the running game has a lot to prove before we start talking playoffs.

But they did just beat the Eagles who are supposed to give Dallas a running for their division title.

Ehh, but then again, it was only Week 1.

Picks: Week 1

Saints/Colts
I could easily just say that until someone beats the Colts I'm picking them to win, but I think this is going to be a very close game. Saints have Deuce and Bush, while Colts have a reliable running game in Addai. Harrison demands double teams, for that matter so does Reggie Wayne and with Manning under center, you have to believe the excellent play calling and play faking ability of Peyton's trumps over New Orleans. Pick: Colts.

Atlanta/Minnesota
Hard to say with this one, both play on turf but Atlanta's not much without their play maker. Minnesota should find a way to win this one. Pick: Minnesota.

Carolina/St.Louis
Someone's gotta win, I really like Stephen Jackson, but the passing game I'm not as impressed with any more. Pick: St. Louis

Denver/Buffalo
I'm liking Buffalo, slowly but surely. Pick: Buffalo.

KC/Houston
I've never been big on Houston. Why start with their home opener which they'll probably find a way to lose. Pick: KC.

Miami/Washington
Just how good will Jason Campbell be? Not sure, and Portis has been banged up some, but Miami ain't that big of a threat either. Both teams could be struggling to get to .500 this season. I'll pick Washington at home to find a way at the end. Pick: Washington.

New England/Jets
One of the best games to catch on opening weekend. Jets seem poised for some kind of comeback since Pennington's injury and New England has not yet withered away it seems for centuries. I should pick the Jets but I'm thinking the Pats will pull out a close one. Should be a great game to watch. Pick: New England.

Philly/Green Bay
Green Bay's D is no longer the laughing stock of the league, and the offense seems to be getting stronger. GB must win home games, and this is a perfect test for the D however they must contain McNabb and force him into errant throws. The homer in me says to pick Green Bay but the fact of the matter is that the Packers have an ugly losing streak against these kids. I think 2007 will change that. It should be close. My homer pick: GB.

Pittsburg/Cleveland
Pittsburg should run away with this one. Pick: Pitt

Tennessee/Jax
Jacksonville should hold on to beat the Titans even with Leftwich gone. Garrard has proven over time he is capable to be a starting QB, and between Fred Taylor and Jones-Drew, the Jags will get it done at home. They'll be fighting for wildcard position all year. Pick: Jags

Chicago/San Diego
It will be interesting to see how the Bears play together but San Diego is really the better team. Lots of fantasy points in this one. Pick: San Diego.

Detroit/Oakland
Well, I won't be watching this one, but the Lions should against a team that's just awful right now. Pick: Detroit.

Tampa Bay/Seattle
Tampa Bay's another team that can't seem to get past the rebuilding phase. I like Seattle. Pick: Seattle.

Giants/Dallas
I have nothing on this one. Pick: Dallas.

Baltimore/Cincy
Ocho Cinco best not choke at home. Pick: Cincy.

Arizona/SF
Are the Niners back? I don't know, but I have a feeling they might. Should be a good game between to NFC West teams.

Packers Training Camp Vid

Here's a vid of some guy who took a trip to see the Packers at training camp and got some excellent footage of Favre behind center. Check it out.
